Wood Spoon Kitchen, Collingwood

It can be difficult to admit a prejudice that lurks within one’s soul, a dislike for another based on some simplistic, incorrect stereotype. I believe that many purveyors of Japandroid dining establishments hold such base fears - that a gaijin may have prepared the meal and in doing so has reduced the legitimacy and/or quality of said meal.

This unease washed over me as I settled in at the WSK and was attended to by two
handsome yet unfortunately Anglo wait staff. However this feeling was replaced
by a wave of guilt as I commenced enjoying the delectable edamame with beer
that emerged from the kitchen. How could I be so shallow, so racially vulgar?

Upon completion of meal and departure from WSK I was able to steal a glance into the
kitchen, Japandroid peeps were at the helm…ahh.
